WATER FILTRATION INSTALLATION
Big brand or local install: water softener + RO, one price
Comparing a national water softener brand with a local flat-price install comes down to how the quote is built. Here is how the DE Home Services package is built, and what to ask any company before you sign.

*Price is for the softener plus under-sink RO package with standard installation for a suitable utility-water home. Nonstandard plumbing, electrical or access work is quoted before agreement.
How a national brand quote is usually built
Culligan, Kinetico and RainSoft sell through local dealers. A typical path is an in-home visit, a water test at the kitchen sink, and a quote that reflects the equipment tier the dealer recommends, often with financing or a rental option and sometimes a plan for salt delivery or filter service. Those companies publish their own descriptions of how that works, and their pages are the right place to read them.
None of that is a criticism. It is a different way to sell the same result, and for some households it is the right fit. The point of this page is that the structure of the quote is where the differences live, not in the water itself.
How the DE Home Services quote is built
One package, one number: $2,999* with standard installation. *Price is for the softener plus under-sink RO package with standard installation for a suitable utility-water home. Nonstandard plumbing, electrical or access work is quoted before agreement.
There is no in-home sales visit. The fit is confirmed from four facts you already know: your town, the utility on your bill or that you are on a well, where the water main enters, and whether there is room under the kitchen sink. The written price comes back before you decide anything, and the appointment you book is the installation itself, by licensed local plumbers, coordinated by an owner-operated company that is insured.
The equipment that is right for your home is listed by make and model in the written quote before you agree, so you can look up the replacement filters and the membrane yourself and see what the running cost will be. Whole house water softener at the main, reverse osmosis tap at the sink, both in one visit for most homes.
What DE Home Services is not
DE Home Services does not sell, install or service Culligan, Kinetico or RainSoft equipment, and it does not repair softeners of any brand. If you already own one of those systems, the dealer that installed it is the right call for parts and service.
This company installs one package at one price for homes in Orlando, Clermont, Winter Garden, Ocoee and Windermere, and it says so plainly rather than pretending to be a catalog of every option.
Questions to ask any softener quote
What is the total installed price, and is it firm before the visit or set at the kitchen table? What is excluded, and is the exclusion list written down? Do I own the equipment when the work is done, or is it rented? Is the softener sized for local water or for a worst case? What will replacement filters and the membrane cost, and can anyone else service them? Is there a second visit before the installation? Does the price include the reverse osmosis tap, or only the softener?
Any company that answers those in writing is giving you a quote you can compare. The DE Home Services answers are on this page and on the cost page, and the four facts that produce a firm price are the same for every home.
Where the water comes from, whoever installs
Whatever the brand, the water is the same. Orange County gets its water from the Floridan Aquifer through a series of wells, and OUC serves the City of Orlando and parts of the county. OUC reports an average hardness of 129 ppm, or 7 grains per gallon. A residential softener from any reputable maker is built for that range, which is why the decision is really about the quote, the installer and the running cost rather than about which nameplate is on the tank.
A private well is the exception for everyone. It needs its own test before any company should size equipment for it, and DE Home Services quotes wells separately for exactly that reason.
When a national brand is the right call
You already have a dealer relationship and a service plan you like. Your well water needs a treatment train that goes beyond a softener and a reverse osmosis tap. You want equipment rental rather than ownership, or you want salt delivered on a schedule. You are outside the five-town area this company covers. In any of those cases, a national brand dealer may be the better fit, and this page is not going to argue otherwise.
For a standard utility-water home in the Orlando area that wants softer water everywhere and better-tasting water at the tap, at a price known before anyone visits, the local flat-price install is what DE Home Services was built to do.
